Birkirkara women’s team have bolstered their squad with the arrival of a Canadian forward ahead of their commitments in the Champions League this month.
Sofia Grace Iaderosa, born in 2003, is a right-footed forward that hails from Canada. She is a versatile player who can also occupy both flanks as a winger as well.
She has recently been playing her football in Spain after featuring also in Canada and in the United States.
Iaderosa made a name for herself in Canada after topping the scoring charts of the Ontario Premier Development League with 20 goals, spearheading Ottawa South United to winning the championship, cup and Charity Shield in 2019.
Birkirkara, coached by Jose Borg, are also in talks to bring in more foreigners as they launch their European campaign on August 18 against SFK Sarajevo of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Stripes, winners of the last edition of the Malta FA Women’s League, will open their title defense against Swieqi United on September 20, with Iaderosa expected to be part of the team for the whole 2022/2023 season.
