Inter youngster Federico Dimarco showed appreciation towards the Maltese islands after the Serie A giants concluded their training camp on our shores.
The Neroazzurri eased past Red Bull Salzburg of Austria with a convincing scoreline of 4-0 in their second and final match in this short winter camp.
“During these few days in Malta, we felt very good,” Dimarco told the Times of Malta.
“The weather was great and we worked very well which is very important.”
A brace from Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a Francesco Acerbi header and Valentin Carboni’s late goal meant that Inter scored 10 goals in their two friendly matches – against Gżira United and Red Bull Salzburg.
Two results that will inject a lot of confidence inside the Inter camp ahead of their second part of the season which will resume in January.
“These friendlies were important for us because it provides us playing minutes before we continue our season commitments,” Dimarco explained.
The Italian wingback, 25, has been one of the brightest players in this season’s campaign for Inter and has also impressed against Red Bull Salzburg.
In 25 games in the 2022/2023 campaign, including Nations League’s games with the Italian national team, Dimarco scored four goals and registered four assists as well.
Asked about his progress at Inter, Dimarco said that he always gives his 100% but at the same time it is more important that his team continues to improve as well.
