Birkirkara made a late acquisition on Deadline Day when they signed Romanian forward Andrei Ciolacu from Floriana.
The 30-year-old forward had been on the books of Floriana since the start of last season and made 17 appearances for the club and scored six goals.
However, this season the Romanian forward struggled for first-team football and he decided to seek pastures new.
Birkirkara, who have been on the look-out for a forward during the January transfer window, made a last-minute move for the forward and completed a deal very late on Deadline Day.
“Birkirkara F.C is pleased to announce the signing of Andrei Ciolacu. The Romanian forward, whose first spell in Malta was with Floriana, scored 6 goals and assisted 5 times in 17 matches last season,” the Premier League club said in a statement.
“Andrei also formed part of the Romania U21 National team and has also won the Romanian 2nd Division Championship with FC U Craiova 1948.”
Ciolacu is expected to attend his first training session with Birkirkara on Wednesday and is in line to make his first appearance with the club this weekend when they face Valletta on Sunday.
