Malta international Haley Bugeja has been named in Goal’s NXGN list for the third straight year after the 25-player list was released on Tuesday.
Bugeja, born in 2004, was eligible for the last time to be part of the list as new changes will see players born in 2005 or later to be selected from next year.
Unlike the previous two years, there is no ranking in this list while it has been expanded from 20 to 25 players.
Bugeja joins Haiti’s Melchie Dumornay – who will join giants Olympique Lyon next season – and Australia’s Mary Fowler, now on the books of Manchester City as the only players to be on the list for three years in a row.
The Maltese player, who scored a brace in Malta’s 2-1 win over Luxembourg in February, is set to start her second year at Orlando Pride as the Florida-based side will launch their NWSL commitments on March 26 against the Portland Thorns.
Joining the Pride last summer, Bugeja racked up 71 minutes across three games including their final game of the season against regular season champions OL Reign.
